Start A New Christmas TraditionIf there is something that you and your family have thought about and talked about but have never done, make this Christmas season the time that you do it! Start a new Christmas tradition.

Robert, and I started dating nine years ago. He told me about a friend he had met while living in Kansas City named Tom Jacobs. Tom had a dream of building a retreat center, where people could participate in yoga, prayer, and other meditative practices and created a foundation to fulfill that dream. Robert supported Tom’s dream by donating to his Timber Creek Retreat capital campaign.

Each December, Tom performs a holiday concert and invites his donors as a thank you gift. Robert had never attended the concert. For five years Robert repeatedly expressed a desire to attend the concert, but we always got busy and never did anything about it.

We finally drove the short four hour trip to Kansas City to see the concert. What an event! The sad thing is that we could have gone any of the years we were together. We just never made plans. This will be our fourth year to attend the concert and we are making it a new tradition.

So, if there is something that you and your family have thought about and talked about but have never done, make this Christmas season the time that you do it! We are SO glad we decided to attend the concert. http://tomjacobs.com .

Tom’s dream has come true! We were so honored to take a tour of the Timber Creek Retreat Center with him yesterday. What a beautiful place and what a privilege to be a part of something so special to help others learn to be still and connect to God in such wonderful surroundings.
