Every Christmas I would let the hustle and bustle steal my joy. Not this year! I am celebrating Christmas every day with a new Christmas idea.

Thanksgiving is known for preparing turkey and Christmas is known for preparing ham. Our family is not fond of ham, so I cook a turkey at Christmas too.

Having cooked at least one to two turkeys each year for the last 30 years, if there was a black belt degree in turkey making, I would have it. To me, cooking a turkey is the easiest dish ever. I was shocked to find out that my best friend of 33 years confessed to me that she never cooked a turkey because it was too intimidating. She was afraid.

Fear keeps us from doing a lot of things, including cooking a turkey! But I’m here to tell you that there is nothing to fear. The biggest obstacle is getting the silly bird out of the packaging and prepping it.

There is nothing like the ooh’s and ah’s you get when you present a beautifully, golden brown turkey. It’s easy and makes your house smell great too.
