Here’s What the Guided Christian Meditation Website is All About
Faith is all about growing. If you are looking for resources and encouragement to grow spiritually, open your mind and heart, and stretch your Christian faith, then you have come to the right place.
You Will Grow By Reading Scripture and Finding New Ways to Look at Scripture
You will find many Scriptures quoted here as well as new ways of looking at Scripture. The best example of this is:
The Meaning of Be Still and Know that I Am God
The Meaning Will Surprise You
The purpose is to look at the Bible in a fresh “living” way and to apply its ancient wisdom to today.
I have been meeting with a spiritual mentor since 2009. On one visit we were discussing the Bible and its overall context. I struggle sometimes with the verses depicting an angry, jealous God of the Old Testament compared to the loving God in the New Testament.
He explained to me that the Bible is God’s pursuit of humanity and wanting to have a loving relationship with us.
I’d never heard the Bible expressed in that way. That explanation helped “me” to stretch and grow and brought me peace.
Growing Through Christ as the Example
God loved us so much that he sent Jesus as the expression of himself (Emmanuelle God with us) to show us how to live.
How did Jesus live? He set the example for:
- Compassion
- Inclusiveness
- Forgiveness
- Joy
- Tolerance
- Abundance
- Faithfulness
- Generosity
- What is possible
Jesus transformed the world. He still does today. As Christians we are in the transformation business transforming ourselves and transforming others.
Growing and Stretching Your Faith through Contemplative Practices
Growing spiritually is an inward journey. Developing an intimate relationship with God and emulating Jesus requires removing ourselves from the noise and hustle and bustle of the outside world.
These practices include:
- Prayer
- Contemplative prayer
- Scripture reading and inspirational reading
- Meditation
- Contemplative writing or journaling
When you engage in these activities you will experience the fruits of the Spirit: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Galatians 5:22.
I’ve created a free mini course on four of these spiritual practices called Be Present with God.
If you have never practiced meditation or are looking for sacred meditations and not secular meditations, these guided meditations will help you each step of the way.
Always be growing! I would love to share our spiritual journey together through a Monday Scripture Meditation email that I send each week with a Bible verse to meditate on along with an inspirational and encouraging story or thoughts. You can sign up below.
Peace, courage and abundant blessings,
