May these words help to illustrate the gift and power of God’s grace.
Robert and I took my mother to our little family friendly eatery for lunch.
Always people watching, I noticed a little girl around the age of two or three following her mother like a little chick. She was cute as one too with her blond pigtails and perfectly coordinated pink outfit.
Her wide blue eyes blinked up at me and held my gaze. She smiled. I smiled. She looked at Robert and then my mother and smiled, giving her entire attention to us.
It reminded me of how God must look at us and smile. God sees the goodness in us. That is called grace.
The Goodness God Saw in Our Bible Heroes
For all that King David was known for, he was still an adulterer and murderer. God saw past that to David’s goodness.
Saul persecuted the early Christians, yet God saw his potential for good.
When Jesus first met Simon, he called him Peter, meaning Rock. Even though Peter would deny him not once but three times, Jesus saw the goodness in him.
Paul writes in Ephesians 2:8-9 – For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.
The Lord said to Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:9, My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.
In this world of doing, doing, doing, it’s a relief and comfort to know that God’s grace is given to us.
As with any gift, however, we have to reach out and take it. That is the only thing we need do to receive grace.
This is an excerpt from my book, God Notes – Daily Doses of Divine Encouragement. Each day focuses on a word from the Bible.

Grace
My grace is unconditional.
You are not in my good graces one minute and in bad graces another minute.
When you comprehend how much I love you, your life will take on a sense of grace and flow.
My grace and favor will chase you down.
My grace is sufficient for you. Believe it and claim it.

September 9, 2016 12:31 pmHi Bev,
Thanks for commenting. You are welcome. I’m so glad you described it as a meditation. That was my intention with God Notes. I know that the majority of people won’t spend 10-20 minutes a day meditating, but they would certainly have time for a word! In this case, they could meditate on Grace all day.
Peace to you,
Jackie
